Fashion Avenue

BOARD GAME DESIGN

In my senior Problem Solving class, we were asked to come up with a concept for a board game then design the board, all the pieces, and the packaging for the game. My objective for the game called "Fashion Avenue"  was to have graduating seniors majoring in Fashion Design at Parsons the New School for Design, participate in a competition. As their senior project they will be given the opportunity to design a collection, all will be featured in the senior show but the winner will get to show their collection at NYC’s Fashion Week in Bryant Park.

GAMEPLAY:

What You Do On Your Turn

On your turn, you roll the die and you move the designated number of spaces. If you land on a chance or consequence space pick up the proper card. Chance cards let you advance 1 to 2 spaces if you answer correctly, but if not you must answer a new question on the next round. Consequence cards set you back 1 to 2 spaces. If you land on a solid orange space can roll again.

Getting Started

On your first turn, decide whether to go left towards Chelsea or right towards Broadway Avenue through the garment district. Both have obstacles you will have to face along the way because there is no shortcut to success.

The player who gets to the star symbol first will be the contest winner and show their collection at NYC’s Fashion Week in Bryant Park.
